Little Falls Hospital Receives $72,000 from
The Community Foundation of Herkimer
& Oneida Counties, Inc

The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc approved a grant of $72,000 to assist in the purchase of a Patient Archiving and Communication System (PACS).  PACS refers to a computer system that is used to capture, store, distribute, and then display radiology images. 

Jonathan I. Lawrence, President & CEO stated, “The acquisition of a PACS allows medical images and reports be transmitted and viewed digitally, as opposed to the current manual method of storing and sending films and reports.  Little Falls Hospital is most grateful to The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. for supporting the hospital’s continuous efforts to offer advanced health care technology to the community we serve.”

Kate Reese, Director of Community Relations & Development adds, “Securing a PACS would break down the physical and time barriers associated with traditional film-based image retrieval, distribution, and display for patients.”
