Little Falls Hospital Honors Mayor Theodore Wind at The Taste of Little Falls

Annual fund raising events ensure the growth and development of Little Falls Hospital.  One of the most favorable and elegant affairs is the “Taste of Little Falls” a gala that brings together family and friends with local restaurants offering wonderful flavors from their establishments.  Little Falls Hospital announces that at this year’s annual event, they will pay tribute to the career and accomplishments of Mayor Theodore Wind.  After 45 years of public office, Mayor Wind announced that he would not seek re-election.

During the Mayor’s tenure, he has worked with the Urban Renewal Agencies receiving over $20 million dollars in Federal and State Grants.  Mayor Wind assisted with Industrial Projects, including Burrow Paper Corporation, Empire Fiberglass, PEMS, Ideal Wood and Feldmeiers Equipment.  Continuing through Mayor Wind’s career, major public works projects developed such as the Veteran’s Memorial Park construction, the Wind Bridge park construction, the Route 167 bridge project, boat launch in the industrial park, bike trail throughout the City, waste water treatment plant upgrade, and park improvements. “My goal from my first day as alderman has been to make Little Falls a better place to live” says Wind.

“Over the past 45 years, the City of Little Falls has made tremendous progress on many fronts, and Mayor Wind has been a major player in the development.  The hospital is honored to pay tribute to the many years of his dedicated service and accomplishments,” says Kate Reese, Director of Community Relations and Development.

This year’s event is taking place at the Best Western in Little Falls on October 14, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Restaurants and businesses participating at this year’s event are:  Albany Street Café, Ann Street Deli, Beardslee Castle, Bella Vista Restaurant, Canal Side Inn, Casey’s Restaurant, East End Steakhouse, Heidelberg Baking Company, Piccolo Café, Portobello Inn Bed and Breakfast, Patty Cake (Patty Seifried), Il Café and Pastry Shop, Ann Street Liquor, West End Liquor, Tri-Valley Beverage, That Special Touch, Flowers by Suzanne, Massaro & Sons, and Designs by Shelly.  A raffle, has been donated by Dan Ruffo and Carol Brown, which includes 2 nights 3 days at the Manhattan Club in NYC.

Tickets are $45 per person or $85.00 a couple.  To purchase your tickets contact the Little Falls Hospital’s Community Relations & Development Office at 315-823-5326 or via e-mail at k.reese@lfhny.org
